Hello and Welcome,
You are invited to
attend the
30th Anniversary
Celebration Meeting of the Sydney PC User Group
on Tuesday
23 September at 5:30pm for 6:00pm start to 8:30pm
Nan Bosler OAM, President of the Australian
Seniors Computer Clubs Association, will be there to officially open
the meeting.
The club's members and friends will celebrate this important mile stone in the club's history at this meeting but not stray too far away from the club's raison d'ętre. Our club's President, Roger Foulds, has arranged for Google Australia's Senior Communications Associate, Shane Treeves, to be at the meeting to discuss the company's current activities and demonstrate some of their new products. Amongst other things, Shane will:
- discuss some of the "Google Search" and "Google Now" features; - explain some tips and tricks that can be used on mobile phones; - show how documents can be collaboratively used and shared in real time; and - demonstrate Google’s new Smartwatch and Google Glass. At the conclusion of this presentation the members
will celebrate the anniversary.
If you have not already registered to attend the
meeting please do so by clicking the link in the side
bar.
On Friday 26 September
the Digital Photography SIG will hold
their meeting from 9:30am to
12:30pm
John
Lucke will discuss the program FastStone Image Viewer at this meeting.
FastStone Image Viewer is a free image browser, converter and editor that supports all the major graphic formats. John will demonstrate how to set up the
program and use its many features to retouch and adjust the colour of
photographs, remove the "red-eyes" from portraits, draw images and
creatively manipulate images.
There
will also be a question and answer session at the
meeting.
