Hello and Welcome,

The Penrith Group will meet next Saturday and details of their meeting are below:

Saturday 7 February - Penrith Group - F Bowman - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
At the last meeting of the Penrith group, Tony gave an excellent summary of some of the features of a web building program, Active X5, which would be useful for both professional web designers and beginners.

The group also used Paragon software to make an image backup of a C: drive in a Windows 8.1 laptop. Making the archive files took almost an hour. Restoring the files onto another disk took about half an hour.

The group also found it interesting to peruse a list of the top dozen tech gadgets of the year which were outlined in an article in "The Australian" newspaper. The list included the GoPro Hero camera, a drone, Samsung's Note 4 large phone, LG's curved TV, the Google Chromecast dongle, Apple's iPhone 6, Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 tablet and LG's G Watch R.

At this month's meeting the group will discuss the following three topics:
(a) Virtual Private Networks including how they work and some of the popular VPN services;
(b) The Internet of Things, and how it could change our homes; and
(c) Some of the new features in Windows 10.

In addition the group will have a Question and Answer session around the table to allow members to share problems, advice and tips.

Visitors are always welcome. However, if you intend to go to the meeting please ring Frank Bowman on 4722 2456 for directions.
