Hello and Welcome,

To those newcomers who have signed up to receive the weekly newsletter, welcome and it is hoped that one of the numerous topics presented at the various SIG's will encourage you to come along and join us in the joys and mysteries of computing.

Monday 13 April - Stocks & Share - Malcolm Robertson - 6 pm - 8 pm

Easter Monday - No Meeting

Tuesday 14 April - Programming - Neville Hoffman - 6 pm - 8 pm

At last months meeting Kevin showed us a PICkit3 development kit, Peter showed us some voltage converters he made.

Using the whiteboard, Wayne showed the schematic of his PIC TV project based on a PIC12F675, Geoff showed the schematic of his PIC08M accelerometer, Martin showed the schematic of his microcontroller based keyboard input detector with LCD display.

Stuart outlined the problems he is facing in rewriting his 8 bit RISC language for the 16 bit PIC30F microprocessor.

This month we will see some more applications members have made with microprocessors.

Saturday 18 April - Web Design - Robert Hume - 2 pm - 4 pm

Last month was a very interesting meeting with the project for the meeting being the insertion of a guest book on a Fusion site. We did this by using our own Web SIG site, it did take a little bit of time with some confusion, but in the end it was achieved .

Robert will be cruising around the Mediterranean this month, so the SIG will be in the capable hands of Bob Backstrom, who will take us through the aspects of Joomla.
