Hi John,

I hope that we all managed to get through the Easter break without too much chocolate! This coming week we have a double event on Tuesday, with a talk from Colin Bolton on the Mozilla Firefox browser and Terry will take us further into discovering our ancestral past. On Friday Bill & Colin will take the Digital Photography SIG, you can be sure  of top presentations, so put some time aside and join your fellow members and have some fun.

Tuesday 21 April - Seniors - Graham Grant - 10 am - 12 noon

This morning we will start with the normal Q & A, so please bring along your questions for all to solve.

Colin Bolton will give a talk on the web browser you should be using, namely Mozilla Firefox.

Tuesday 21 April - Genealogy - Terry Eakin - 1 pm - 3 pm

Terry will cover 'Immigrants into Australia'. If you cannot find them, perhaps they swam out, but unlikely. If available online will take a look at 'Monumental Inscriptions' (60,000 for a few counties in Ireland) plus those in Australia.

If there is any time left Terry will do some quick searches using AGCI Volumes 1, 2 & 3. These have been produced by the Society of Australian Genealogists, but relate to Australia and New Zealand as contributed by about 20 groups in Australia.

Friday 24 April - Digital Photography - Peter Collard - 10 am - 12 noon

With Peter holidaying in Thailand, Bill Parry will run the Q & A, so one can expect a lively session, be prepared and have your questions ready.

Colin Bolton will  show us how to get the best from using Photoshop Elements.

Tip of the Week

PC Decrapifier

We all love how computer makers load up their computers with 'free' software. Most of the time this (so called free software) can be intrusive by asking you to subscribe to the full version and may lead to slowing down your computer if it auto-loads at start-up. PC Decrapifier will help to delete these free trials and other 'crap-ware' that come pre-loaded on your computer. PC Decrapifier is a program that started as Dell Decrapifier and then spread its wings to cover other manufacturers' pre-loaded crap.
