Hello and Welcome, Peter Collard returned to
the Digital Photography SIG last week, bringing with him from Thailand two
T-shirts. One was raffled at the Digital Photography SIG with the winner
being Leo Glockemann. The 2nd one was donated for the door prize at
the main meeting, and Bill Parry was the lucky winner. Our thanks to
Peter for thinking of the SPCUG whilst he was holidaying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Toshiba
Mini-Notebook NB200 Justin White, the Product
Marketing Manager from Toshiba showed us the new Mini-Notebook which
had only been released a couple of days. All those who were present, I'm
sure you will agree the presentation was very informative and anyone
who was thinking of going for one of these little handy gadgets it would
be hard to go past this one. The NB200 has great storage
capacity, long battery life, integrated webcam, weighs 1.18kg, 10.1"
widescreen LED backlight display, a full 19 mm pitch keyboard (desktop
standard) for easy typing and also comes bundled with Face Recognition
software offering an easy and fun way to log on. Bumps and knocks are
cushioned with a 3D-accelerometer monitoring system which can detect free
falls, shocks or vibrations. The SPCUG would like to extend our
thanks to Justin and Toshiba for the great prizes that they so generously
donated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Saturday 6 June - Penrith - Frank Bowman
- 2 pm - 5 pm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip of the
Week ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So until next week, Cheers Elaine
