THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH

"The shortest distance between

Tuesday 8 December - Programming - Neville Hoffman - 6 pm - 8 pm

At the November meeting Bob showed one of the projects from micro-examples.com, a PIC based clock developed by writing on the screen. Andrew showed a disparaging review on YouTube of the PICKit3 and a response from MicroChip. Martin showed how he used a single wire from a 10 bit ATMEL processor board to access a 24 bit A to D converter using interrupts at 100Hz. Matt told us how he used a PIC to display on a PC a graphical output of the humidity and temperature readings transmitted by radio from a Jaycar Weather Station. Wayne showed us the picdev and cpik web pages.

At this meeting we'll see some new microprocessor applications and programming examples.

Friday 11  December - Seniors - Bill Parry - 10 am - 12 noon

This month Bill will show the group some web-based tutorials... tutorials in a wide range of subjects - which will be interesting and informative.

'Social networking' - we will take a look at the various websites and their offerings, maybe some of our members are using some of these sites e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and blogs etc. Members are invited to give us a rundown on their choice of this new phase of interaction with fellow networkers, or if you do not want to present you could guide Bill through the area of your choice and give the group an outline on how these sites work.

Friday 11 December - Communications - Terry Eakin - 1 pm - 3 pm

Terry is hoping to be in attendance this meeting and will bring in his new laptop for Bob to set up and show those interested how it is done. If Terry is unable to make it I'm sure Bob will have an interesting topic for you all to enjoy.
