| |
1st Floor
Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts 280 Pitt Street, Sydney http://www.sydneypc.com

Hello and Welcome,
Welcome to the first of the regular weekly SIG meeting updates for 2010. I hope that all members and their families enjoyed a Merry and Holy Christmas and that you have also had a great time celebrating the New Year.
2009 proved to be a very successful year with great presentations from well known companies and the SIG's also had a keen following with informative sessions provided by the respective leaders.
With SMSA adhering to their security code, members are advised that entry to the 1st floor meeting room will only be accessible 30 minutes before the advertised starting time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please note the following SIG's will not take place during January -
Penrith - returns Saturday 6 February
Stocks & Shares - returns Monday 8 February
Main Meeting - returns Tuesday 23 February
Friday 8 January - Seniors - Bill Parry - 10 am - 12 noon
Bob Young will give us a run-down on the National Broadband Network. He will speak about what the NBN is, what people think it will be used for, what it might cost, the technical options, the history of the matter, the politics surrounding it, how it is proposed to be implemented and the present position. As most of you know Bob was in a senior position with Telstra prior to his retirement and recently attended an industry conference in which he was brought right up to date with the situation. Should be very interesting.
Friday 8 January - Communications - Terry Eakin - 1 pm - 3 pm
There is no advance information as to the topic for this afternoon's meeting, but you can be sure the Communication guru's have something planned that will be both informative and interesting.
So until next week, health and happiness. Cheers Elaine |
