2010 Competition Guidelines...

Hi John,

Saturday 3 July - Penrith - Frank Bowman - 2 pm - 5 pm
St Clair High School, Endeavour Avenue, St Clair

There will not be a July Penrith SIG meeting as our venue, St Clair High School, will be closed for holidays. We hope to be back in strength for the August meeting, due on Saturday 7th.

At our June meeting, following our usual Q and A session, we read a Choice Computer article that ranked 18 popular antivirus programs. Symantec topped the list.

We partitioned a brand new 320 GB portable hard disc, using Paragon freeware software, tested some screen capture programs and looked at how Word can be used as a basic database, by making use of its multiple sort facility.

Tip of the Week
JavaRa checks if your computer has the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If the version installed has been superseded by a newer version the program will download and install the newer version by running Java's update program. JavaRa then allows removal of all possible older versions of this program.
