WANTED nominations for
Committee Members

Nomination Form

Hello & Welcome,

A bit of a wordsmith?

If you are, then here’s a chance to make use of your talents. We all love our ‘Weekly Updates’ newsletter. Elaine Rush has been doing a grand job, but sadly, she must move on to other things at the end of this month. We urgently need a volunteer to edit this weekly newsletter. You’re welcome to contribute articles to our web site as well, if you’re so inclined.

Please contact me by email: knmer1470@gmail.com or phone 9904 7864.

Tuesday 20 July - Seniors - G. Grant - 9.30am - 12.30pm

For the next Tuesdays Seniors SIG. We will have our normal Q and A, so come prepared with questions or queries. We will then have a look at a number of utilities that members might find useful.
(Graham Grant)

Tuesday 20 July - Genealogy - T. Eakin - 12.30pm - 3.30pm

Next week I intend to display and discuss two North Shore cemeteries, Gore Hill community graveyard and St Thomas' C of E graveyard on West Street. Only Gore Hill remains preserved for future generations, with St Thomas' being torn up and a children's playground erected thereon as North Sydney Council conserved the cemetery as St Thomas' Rest Area in 1974 to combat vandalism and neglect. I have the printed book on the St Thomas' memorials as well as the electronic database.

If you have ancestors buried in either or both, I will be happy to print out details of any surname for members and friends attending either by prior notification or by using the SPCUG laser printer on Tuesday 20 July 2010. I'll take my notebook so that I have Microsoft Office to prepare printouts on the day.

If you have any questions for the Genealogy SIG, I'd appreciate an email to tea04055@bigpond.net.au or by phone call to 02 9428 2520 before 8.15 pm any night.
(Terry Eakin)
