ASCCA CONFERENCE
Australian Computer Conference for Seniors
8th & 9th September

An event not to be missed.

Hello and Welcome,

Members who went to the Main Meeting on Tuesday night were given a fascinating look at Toshiba's latest notebook technology. The company recently introduced more than 36 notebooks and Toshiba's Anthony Geronimo demonstrated the merits of a number of these at the meeting including:
 • the Libretto W100 – the world’s first dual screen notebook;
 • the Portégé R700 – Toshiba’s lightest and thinnest, full-function 13” notebook;
 • the AC100 Cloud Companion – an Android-based mobile internet device for cloud computing; and
 • the Qosmio F60 - a high definition entertainment notebook.

The evening was a great success and particularly so for the member who went home with a smile on his face and a new Toshiba Satellite T230 notebook under his arm.

The next Main Meeting will be held on Tuesday 28 September. You might like to note the date of the meeting in your diary and invite a friend to come to the meeting!

There is one meeting next week. It will be held on:

Saturday 4 September - Penrith Group  -  F. Bowman - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
The Penrith Group will hold its meeting at the usual venue, St Clair High School, Endeavour Avenue, St Clair.  As well as our usual question and answer session, the group will share problems, advice and tips, make a short video with Movie Maker, examine an older freeware version of PaintShop Pro, use a slide scanner that converts slides into JPGs, continue with some website construction and test a graphics tablet. It promises to be an interest packed meeting, so come along and enjoy the afternoon.

So until next week, health and happiness,

Cheers,
John M
