Hello and Welcome,
The Smart phone SIG has ended.
This group was led by John Shiel in a very professional manner. His
preparation for the SIG meetings was very thorough and
thoughtful and he presented the sessions with considerable
skill. In addition, he travelled from Newcastle each month for the
meetings. His leadership was greatly appreciated by everyone
who attended the SIG and the Club sincerely thanks John for his
contribution.
John has given us copies of his presentation slides and
these are available on the first page of the Club's Web Site. They should
not be missed!
Monday 13 September - Stocks
& Shares - M. Robertson - 5:30pm -
8:30pm
John Lucke will lead the Stocks & Shares group this week.
The meeting will commence with a general discussion on the current
stock market and those particular stocks that are of interest to
members.
The Inside Trader program will then be used to demonstrate
how it can generate lists of stocks from market sectors and share
price data. If time allows, there will be a demonstration to show how
various chart arrangements can be set up within the program.
Tuesday 14 September - Programming
- N. Hoffman - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
At the August meeting of this group Alex showed the circuit and
programming details of his tune-playing alarm clock and showed his design
of an electric footwarmer mat. Peter showed the Logicator system for
developing programs for PIC and PICaxe chips from flowcharts. Les showed
details of the remote monitoring security system he has
designed.
A footwarmer and a remote monitoring security system! What will
this group do next? Come to the meeting and see - you will be
welcome.
Saturday 18 September - Web
Design - R. Hume - 1:30pm -
4:30pm
The group is continuing its task of improving and
building the club's web pages. As part of this process, the group is
building an information site on how to configure web pages to make them
easily navigable and efficient. When it is completed this site will be a
valuable resource for all members.

So until next week, health and happiness,
Cheers,
John M
