Hello and Welcome,
As forecast last week, our PC Users
Group started the new year with some very interesting SIG
meetings.
John Lucke's presentation to the Communications
SIG is now available online. It shows how you can make your
e-mail messages much more interesting. Download it here.
Next week we have meetings of the Seniors and
Genealogy SIGs. Details are below:
Tuesday 18 January - Seniors
- G. Grant - 9:30am - 12:30pm
Members often comment that they have learnt some
very useful information from the question and answer sessions
at the club's SIG meetings.
Graham is sure that with all the goodies members
have received over Christmas, some members will have a few
problems!
Therefore, in the knowledge that one person's
problem is another persons's learning opportunity, a question and answer
session will figure prominently at this month's meeting.
Afterwards, Graham has a number of small utilities
to demonstrate. He is sure members will find these
interesting.
Tuesday 18 January
- Genealogy - T. Eakin - 12:30pm -
3:30pm
Terry proposes to work online to show the group
how to search the NSW indexes of births, marriages and deaths to extract
the most information possible for family history research.
As the other Australian State records are similar to those in NSW, the material discussed will assist record searches in the other states. Terry will also discuss how to build family tree branches and the importance of keeping a record of references to the information found. As usual, he will produce a paper for the members
who attend the meeting and those who apologise for not attending.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cheers,
John
