Hello and Welcome,

There are three meetings of the Sydney PC Users Group next week.

Tuesday 17 July - Seniors -  G. Grant - 9:30am - 12:30pm
Graham Grant has the normal Q and A to start with and then, carried over from last month, will have a look at the Windows Administrative Tools.

Graham will also look at a small utility, that Joan Robertson bought to his attention, called ecoPrint2.

There will also be a question and answer session to resolve any computer problems members have experienced recently.

Tuesday 17 July - Genealogy -  T. Eakin - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
At this meeting Terry Eakin will be discussing two CD ROMs from the NSW Immigration Index Series. Unassisted arrivals (NSW) Index 1842-1856 and Ships & Masters to Sydney Index 1842-1856 and Unassisted Arrivals to Sydney (NSW) Index 1842-1857. The titles look the same but the latter includes over 25,000 immigrants missing from the first CD ROM. The first CD ROM has 166,851 persons but the latter has 191,890 persons. Sure there is duplication but the extra 25,000 may include your missing ancestor or ancestors. Both CDs were produced by Pastkeys of Gymea NSW.

Terry looks forward to seeing you there on Tuesday. The Group's printer will be set up so you can take printouts home with you, so bring details of who you are looking for.

Terry will have a paper to distribute and a question and answer session will provide members with the opportunity to explore family history issues.

Saturday 21 July - Web Design -  9:30am - 12:30pm

Robert Hume will lead the group to create a web site to show his photographs taken on his recent holiday in Peru.

For the photographers
ABC TV has started a new "Photo Finish" series in which three amateur photographers are tested with a photographic challenge. The programme is shown at 8PM on Thursdays. You can view the first episode here.

Cheers,
