Hello and Welcome,
The
Fridays Seniors and the Communications SIGs will meet next Friday and
details are
below.
You will also find an advance notice of a
new Web Design class to be held on Saturday, 16 February
below. This is an excellent opportunity to refresh or learn some
new computer skills. Give John Lucke a call if you wish to learn
more about the class.
Friday 8 February - Seniors -
Leader - 9:30am - 12:30pm
Work on the "clogged" Acer Notebook has proceeded
since last month's
meeting and the residual problems will be reviewed at this meeting. There are a range of possible solutions and these will be discussed to determine which should be tried on the computer. Bob
Backstrom will also continue the discussion on Windows 8 and, if time
allows, install the latest version of Windows 8 and Microsoft Office
Plus 2010
suite on the club's computer. Friday 8 February - Communications
- J. Lucke - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
John Lucke will undertake an in-depth review of
various free e-mail Backup and Systems at this meeting. He will also look at
setting up new email accounts, personalising clients, establishing message
handling rules, retrieving emails and lots more. This will follow question
and answer and general discussion session.

Cheers,
John
Mathews

You too can be a Web Designer!
Anyone with a computer can build a beautiful website. It's creative, it's easy and it's fun when our own Web Design members show you how - using free programs. Even hosting your website is free! Imagine the pleasure in having your own web-site where you could portray your family's history, illustrate your travels or offer help and advice on your favourite hobby, sport or special interest. You may even choose to create a website for a local club, church or charity. Why not check out some of our member's sites at the bottom of the club's Web Design page? A new beginner/refresher web-design class starts at 2:00pm on 16 February. Bring your laptop or thumb-drive and take home your own webpage! Don't miss out - contact John Lucke, Ph. 9546 5482 or e-mail spcugdb@gmail.com for more details. |
