Hello and Welcome,

We have another three interesting meeting next week. Here are the details:

Tuesday 16 April - Seniors - 9:30am - 12:30pm
At this meeting the group will look at some of the best freeware programs currently available.

The old favourites that members won't part with will not be overlooked and some newer useful ones will be shown. There are places where these programs can be downloaded without the "re-direct trickery" found on some sites and these sources will be identified.

The freeware programs that will be identified will include anti-virus, firewall, backup, file recovery, word processing, imaging, video, audio and PC maintenance applications.

Members will be invited to identify or demonstrate their favourite freeware applications.

As usual there will be a question and answer session at the meeting.

Tuesday 16 April  - Genealogy -  T. Eakin - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Terry Eakin will give the second part of his presentation covering the family details available in the State records at the National Archives of Australia.

He will be concentrate on the records available in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland but most other States have similar records.

A question and answer session will be available for members who wish to discuss family history issues.

Saturday 20 April - Web Design -  R. Hume - 1:30pm - 4:30pm
A report outlining the activities that occurred at this group's last meeting is attached to this e-mail message.

At this month's meeting the group will build on the lessons learn last month.
They will start by taking a closer look at the program "Expression Web 4" and a document has been prepared to show members what is seen when the program is opened and how to create and style a basic page.

Two short tutorial videos obtained from one of the member's collection will also be shown. One is from a course based on the book “How to create a web site the right way” and the other from the “HTML 5 Now” series which shows how to transition HTML 4 sites to HTML 5.

A lot can be learnt at the Web Design SIG meetings and it is not too late to start attending.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cheers,
John Mathews
