Hello and Welcome,
Next week's meeting details are below.
Tuesday 13 August - Programming - N.
Hoffman - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
The Programming SIG aims to bring together
professionals, hobbyists and beginners to discuss programming, and in
particular, microprocessor project designs.
At the July meeting Wayne demonstrated his PIC TV. Using precise control of the timer on a PIC12F675 microprocessor he was able to generate a video, and used the projector to show on the wall readouts of a temperature monitor as an 8 segment RGB composite display. David demonstrated some more samples of his plug-in PCB modules that allow features to be added to circuit boards without soldering. Members of the group will demonstrate some new
microprocessor applications and programming examples at Tuesday's
meeting.
Saturday 17 August - Web Design - S
South - 1:30pm - 4:30pm
Steve South will have a look some articles from
the Sitepoint
newsletter on finding and using free images, sourcing them,
understanding the various usage rights and maybe how to copyright and
protect your own images. He may also revisit My Web Album and My
Watermark programs.
The group will also look at creating style guides
both for web sites and for brand recognition. They
may have some fun creating one for their site and will discuss the
finer points of colour, font text style logos etc.
Steve has been delving into how Expression Web
handles CSS so he may have a look at the CSS windows that pop up when
a new style is created, and try and relate them to the standard CSS
code.
Last month Bob and John showed some of
their work relating to menus and Steve is looking forward to seeing
what others have been doing during the month. If you have anything to
demonstrate please let him know.
