MEETINGS
21 - 26 October 2013
VLC Media Player 2.1.0
ASCCA Details of the program for this year's conference are now available here. |
Hello and Welcome,
We have
another interesting range of topics being discussed at next week's
meetings. Details are
below:
Tuesday 15 October
- Seniors - 9:30am - 12:30pm
Tips,
tricks and secrets for Windows 7 will be the main topic for this week's
meeting of the Seniors SIG.
The
group will also discuss Microsoft Office essentials and how to customize
the latest version of VLC Media Player.
A video
tutorial will be shown and the group will have an opportunity discuss
problems and items of interest during the meeting.
Tuesday 15 October - Genealogy
- T Eakin - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Terry Eakin has been learning
about the Biographical Database of Australia during the last week so that
he can demonstrate it at this meeting. More information will be made
available in a paper he will send to members of the group on
Monday.
Questions and general items of interest to family
historians will also be discussed at the meeting.
Saturday 19 October - Web
Design - S South - 1:30pm -
4:30pm
This
month Brent will discuss Social Media which to quota his e-mail message
“is being used by more and more businesses to help promote their services.
Effective web sites involve more than the physical setup of web pages.
They must address the wants, needs and desires of the target audience.”
Steve
South had the chance to take a Digital Hub course on Facebook and Tweeter
last week and he plans to spend the first hour of the meeting discussing
what the fuss is all about.
In the
following hour the group will look at "fluid images" which is a part of
the Responsive Web Design concept. As web page images need to be flexible
enough to fit into both small and large screens, the group will explore
how this can be achieved.
