Hello and Welcome,

The Penrith Group meets next Saturday and details of their meeting are below.

Saturday 2 November - Penrith Group - F. Bowman - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
At their last meeting the Penrith Group used the Clone Tool in Irfanview to easily remove faint join lines in a stitched panorama they produced at their August meeting. The results led them to conclude that Irfanview is indeed a wonderful piece of software.

They examined the freeware program WinDirStat, which graphically analyses a disk, flash drive or hard disk and produces an image that clearly shows the size of each file.

A freeware program, Ashampoo Slide Show, was used to produce a video slide show of ten vintage car images, in a WMV file format, with transitions. It did this quickly, easily and effectively.

This month the group is planning to use Movie Maker to make a similar slide show so that they can compare the two programs.

As well, they will look at brainstorming and mind mapping freeware programs and online bulletin boards, such as Padlet (formerly known as Wallwisher).

They will also have a question and answer session around the table to share problems, advice and tips.

The Penrith Group meets at St Clair High School, Endeavour Avenue, St Clair.
