Hello and Welcome,

Next week's meeting will be held at Penrith and details are below.

Saturday 7 June - Penrith Group - F Bowman - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
The Penrith Group has an extensive range of activities proposed for next week's meeting with particular emphasis being given to Windows 8.1 and Google's search tools.

They normally start the meeting with a Question and Answer session around the table to share problems, advice and tips and then they intend to:
 - examine a recent article in the Choice Computer magazine which
   compared Windows 8.1 with the earlier version, Windows 8;

 - use Google search to find some hidden features in Windows 8.1;

 - look at some of the undocumented search features that can be used when
   Google is being used to search the internet;

 - explore how set restore points and make a full image backup in Windows 8.1;

 - head back into the past and read an article called "Nine Technologies that have
   faded into History", amongst which is the faithful dot matrix printer;

 - build on the project that was started last month by updating the small
   online bulletin board known as a padlet; and

  - use a freeware program to produce a column graph showing the altitudes
   of 10 selected NSW towns.

The Penrith SIG meets at the St Clair High School, Endeavour Avenue, St Clair and visitors are always welcome.
