MAIN MEETINGS

23 September 2014

The Sydney PC User Group will celebrate its 30th year birthday at this meeting.

Read the details on the club's webpage here.

Hello and Welcome,

Alex Zaharov-Reutt has arranged for Nuance to demonstrate Dragon Naturally Speaking and their new Power PDF software at this month's Main Meeting. Alex's message and details of the Digital Photography SIG meeting being held on Friday are below.

Tuesday 22 July - The Main Meeting - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Derek Austin, Nuance Director, Desktop Solutions, Asia Pacific, will make what now seems a yearly pilgrimage to the Sydney PC Users Group main meetings.

Derek will be demonstrating the latest advances in the PC and Mac versions of Dragon Naturally Speaking and will show us the benefits of Nuance’s new Power PDF software, while also checking out the latest Nuance apps for iOS and Android, finishing off with where Nuance thinks we're headed by the end of the decade - and beyond.

Derek and Nuance are also generously providing a copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking Premium, valued at AUD $199.95, and a copy of Power PDF Advanced, valued at AUD $149.95, for the raffle.

Given the highly advanced nature of Nuance's software, yet the simplicity that software affords to end users now able to simply speak to their devices - among other benefits and features that were once but the domain of sci-fi novels - if you want to see the future being demonstrated today, and have a chance to win a piece of it, July’s main meeting is one you won't want to miss!

So, get your smartphone enabled, jet-powered boots on and make sure you enter the matrix of sci-fi July, where Derek will demo powerful, yet simple to use technologies that have now become well and truly science fact.
See you there,
Alex

Friday 25 July - Digital Photography - 9:30am - 12:30pm
At this meeting the group will continue to explore some more of the features in the image manipulation program, GIMP.

The group will also hold a general question and answer session to discuss computer and photographic issues.
