Hello and Welcome,

There are two meetings being held next Friday.

Friday 10 October - Seniors - 9:30am - 12:30pm
Microsoft has announced that a new version of its Windows operating system will be released in the middle of next year. It will be named Windows 10 rather that the expected name of Windows 9.

As any changes being made to a computer operating system are interesting, the members attending this meeting will consider and discuss the changes that have been announced for the proposed new Windows 10.

A question and answer session will also be held at the meeting.

Friday 10 October - Communications - J Lucke - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Operating in the Clouds
John Lucke moved some of the club's membership records to the Google-Drive Cloud three years ago and he is pleased to report that it has worked flawlessly.

With such encouragement, John has decided to be more adventurous and set up a cloud based encrypted "Financial Test File" at this meeting.

The new records he will create will include twelve monthly cash-flow summaries with a breakdown of the income and expenses for the period and an automatic error checking procedure.

These new records may be adopted for the club's financial records in the new year.

If you have ever wondered about cloud storage and its advantages, you should find this an interesting exercise.

There will also be a question and answer session at the meeting.
