Victor Zaharov-Reutt

Members of the club will be saddened to learn of the death of Victor Zaharov-Reutt the father of Alex Zaharov-Reutt.
Alex has written a letter to the club and a copy of this is attached to this e-mail message.

Hello and Welcome,
Arrangements have been made for the City of Sydney Library to hold a number of meetings to showcase our club's activities and attract some new members.

We encourage you to attend these free meetings to support the speakers and demonstrate how our club's meetings are conducted.
At the first of these meetings Alex Zaharov-Reutt will demonstrate the latest computer technology and answer any computer problems members of the audience may have.

You can register to attend the first meeting to be held at the Customs House library at 12:30 pm to 1:30pm on Thursday 23 October  here.
Tuesday 21 October - Seniors - 9:30am - 12:30pm
At this meeting Tim Kelly will look at how the Internet can be used to keep you up to date with the latest news and anything else that may be of interest to you.
Tim will explore the methods you can use to obtain the information you need including Podcast software and RSS and Atom readers.  
There will also be a question and answer session at the meeting.
Tuesday 21 October - Genealogy - T Eakin - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Terry Eakin will discuss the "Primary Records" that can be found on the website of the Society of Australian Genealogists at this meeting.  
The Society's "Primary Records" is a set of hundreds of thousands of records including family histories, pedigree charts, people and activities, Birth Death & Marriage certificates, photographs, wills, land dealings, signatures, maps and events in people's lives.  
Terry will show some of the records on line at the meeting.  
The full original records can be seen on Thursdays and Saturdays if a booking is made with the Society at Richmond Villa 120 Kent St Sydney.
Friday 24 October - Digital Photography - 9:30am - 12:30pm
At last month's meeting the group explored some of the features that are in the program FastStone Image Viewer.  
At this meeting Roger Foulds will look at some of the other aspects of the program that were not discussed last month.  
The members will also show some of the photographs they have taken and enhanced in FastStone Image Viewer since the last meeting.  
In addition there will be a discussion of the legal issues relating to street photography in New South Wales as outlined in the article that can be read
