What we did
February 2020 : Github and BitBucket
Github and Bitbucket are storage hubs for the GIT Visioning Control code editor. Github, is now owned by Microsoft and Bitbucket is owned by the Australian company Atlassian.
We had a look at a video Git and Github for poets on how these hubs work as a both a file repository and collaboration system. GIT is a method which allows users to develop their software and keep each version while noting each change made. This allows for teams to edit files and develop code.
Both Github and Bitbucket have windows programs that allow you to edit files within the windows environment. Both are linked to their servers. We had a look at just how it all this works by creating a repository, uploaded a file and edited to see how the system worked.
