What we did
February 2019 : Design Tools
This month we had a look at some of the Web Design tools available to help you design a site. The information is taken from an e-mail course by Sitepoint called Responsive Web Design the Right Way
We had a look at the various online and downloadable tools used in the course
The Software
It only works online and you have to sign up. It appears to be one of the only programs that allowed us to download the code.
SKETCH
Sketch only works on MACs. Although a Windows version is said to on the way. Currently it requires macOS High Sierra (10.13.4) or newer
Sketch is a trail only for 39 days.
ADOBE XD and CREATIVE CLOUD
Adobe XD can be downloaded or run over the net.
You need an Adobe account. That gives you the Abobe cloud and access all the Aboce programs both free and those you need to pay for.
WebFlow is online only. To quote from the site,
"No credit card required. No trial period. Full design and CMS control. Start building with Webflow today and see for yourself."
We found a good video on how webflow works
This video is on the WebFlow site its a "Crash course in Webflow"
It appears the code can be exported.
Figma can be download or used online. Its free for individuals.
We found a an article on how to getting started with Figma
