Web pages are the key to effective use of the internet. Our SIG aims to improve users’ understanding of web page design. Topics that we discuss include :-
Do’s and Don’ts of page layout
- Do - make site easily to navigate. No more than 3 clicks from anything.
- Do - keep the site simple. Keep the graphics simple. Use only 1 or 2 fonts!
- Don’t - clutter the page with unnecessary information.
- Don’t - use a background that makes the text difficult to read.

- Involves a number of complex factor including

- keep upgraded so it looks new to the engines
Out-source or in-house design
- how much do you know about physically setting up web sites?
- how much do you know about the logical makeup of a web sites?
- will it include e-commerce features?
- how much time do you have to spend on the task?
- how big is your budget for creating the web site?
- how much do you know about setting up domain names and other e-commerce functions?
Animations : good and bad points
- they can put a heavy load on your PC's processor.
- they may require additional software.
- some viewers may not have the plug-ins to display animation.
- judicious use of animation may enhance the site.
