Report on the new developments at
SPCUG Web Design

Hi Everyone, we have been busy looking into new software and programs for the Web Design group. In the next two months we will have a new site hosted on 000 Web Host, a free web hosting service John Lucke has been using. This should mean we are better able to investigate members design ideas. That and new software should enable us to bring a much more varied program to the Saturday meetings.

Report of Meeting for April

Talked about NOF pages not centering in Firefox even though they have been specified to centre. Tony had the solution for this problem. It includes putting text in the properties window.
We then upgraded the Newsletters from Brent. January, March and April were included.
Next month we intend to make a topic index to go with the Newsletters.
See you at the next meeting on Saturday 21 May.
Regards

Robert

Report for the March Meeting Report

Robert was absent so we took the opportunity to finish the newsletter linking. We now have the newsletters linked by year and month. The next job is to make a topic index.

Then we decided to simplify the archived monthly reports, breaking them up into years so that they are not all on one long page. The current Monthly Reports page is for 2011 and will be copied onto the 2011 archive next January.

At the beginning of the meeting we had a quick look at a couple of “colo(u)r pickers”. Pixie Color by NattyWare and CPick by Sam Francke looked nice.

At the next meeting we will fill the gaps in Brent’s newsletters and maybe tidy up the formatting of the monthly reports. We had some difficulty in changing fonts in NOF, so it seems we need to define some more Styles for the headings.

The next meeting is 16th April; see you there (but I’ll be in Thailand).

Regards,

Peter

February 2011

We decided to insert the Newsletters that Brent wrote. After much discussion we decided that a plan was needed. The site was then made up to suit a year and month system and we will add anchor points and menus to be able to navigate to the relevant topics of interest.

Next meeting is Saturday 19th March when we will continue to upgrade the Newletters section.

See you there

Regards,

Robert
